The Bridal Show

I'm a bit late in posting my review, but Jemma and I really enjoyed the Metropolitan Bridal Show. Were you there? If so, I hope you took the chance to meet with us! We did get to meet many brides at the show, and from time to time a groom would stick his head out of the "man cave" to see what his fiance was up to.

I also enjoyed meeting many other wedding vendors from the area, and almost all of them were very friendly! I would like to promote a few of the ones that we really enjoyed:

Unique Expressions Photography
Sue and her husband were in the booth next to us for the Bridal Show. They showcased some very beautiful wedding pictures at the show and we really enjoyed their company (and advice). If you need a photographer for any event, check them out!

Preston Dial Photography
Jemma had the chance to meet with Preston and Travis. They were super nice and very helpful with business tips too. They had one of the best photography booths at the show and they do some beautiful work! Check them out!

Photobooth Planet
A new trend in the wedding industry today is to have a photo booth at your wedding. Photobooth Planet is by far our favorite, and they have been doing this business for 8 or more years now. They are EXTREMELY fun and you and your guests will have a blast with them at your reception. Here's Our pictures! (Sorry, the scanner wasn't working properly -- this is a picture of the picture.)

Whitestone Wedding Chapel in Marshfield
Saturday night, during the booth setup, we had a chance to meet Kate and Ronny Bryce. Ronny is a hoot and we really enjoyed meeting them. I may go do a video shoot of their chapel at some point. (I'd still like to get some video of wedding locations on our site.) They have a great looking chapel and they are good people to do business with!

Advertising Plus
If you're looking for wedding gifts or personalized party favors, you can find it at Advertising Plus. Julia Strong is a great person and very helpful.

Venues to Host your wedding...

We have intentions of creating a section in our website that would highlight interesting and/or local places to hold your wedding and reception. I'm curious to see if there are any places you would like to know about!

Recently, locally in Christian County, I stumbled upon two locations that I didn't realize were there:

One is Highland Place. Here's a link to their website. I actually had a chance to meet one of the owners there, Stephanie Ashley. She's been a local Disc Jockey, and last year (I think she said last year), she purchased Highland Place to make it a hall for receptions, parties, and other events. They do have a beautiful facility. I wasn't able to videotape it for you to review here though. I'll see if I can do that in the future.

Another location I stumbled upon is the Bell Tower Chapel. We emailed back and forth for a time that I could go out to see them. After four to six weeks of trying to see if they were open for me to see their facility, I gave up. I have not gotten around to calling them back since. If they are that busy though, that could be a good thing. Their website shows a beautiful place. You may like it! Here's the link.

If you have never heard of the Garden of Dreams and Honeybranch Cave (just east of Sparta), you might check it out too. Here's the link. They have been hosting weddings there for years. It's an outdoor facility (so they are closed through the winter), with a beautiful garden surrounding the Honeybranch Cave. They have a place for reception and they did provide a Disc Jockey, although I'm not sure if they still do -- the website is a bit confusing on that point.

So do you have any places that you think sound interesting? Do you have comments about the above venues? Let us know!
